Improbably, yes. Useful in the future? Most definitely. This bulky motorcycle featuring a biodiesel engine was given a test drive in real traffic situations. At first it seemed a bit awkward getting it off the line, but it was fine ever after that.

Currently due to its size and weight it doesn’t look practical at all. However, as with most prototypes, it’s always a start. Most inventions do start this way, so we’ll see where this leads us. Any alternative fuel is better than gasoline at the moment. It’s great to see people like Michael attempting such projects. Hopefully this is one of many great biodiesel inventions to come in the future.

If you’re an off-road enthusiast, you might want to consider adding a liftkit to your truck. This will give you extra ground clearance on rough terrain. The basic steps are as followed in the video:

Step One:

Remove wheels.
Remove skide plates.
Remove sway bar links.

Step two:

Remove the spindle from the lower ball joints.
Loosen lower control arm bushing.

Step three:

Disconnect and remove strut.

Step four:

Next, bolt on spacer, making sure the curve spacer is facing out
All that’s next is to reinstall the new strut. In some cars you made need to get the jack stand to remove the lower strut.

Step five:

You must reconnect the spindle to the lower ball joint. A ratchet strap will make this tedious step much easier. One can be bought at a variety of auto parts stores.

Step six:

Install bump stop washers.
Install diff stop spacers.
Tip: (Loosen the steering rack before you begin. It’s easier to attach the nuts to the new bolts.)

Step seven:

Obviously you’re going to need to add your wheels and tires and then lower your vehicle to the ground.

A turbocharger is basically an air compressor. It takes in air and compresses it to increase your engines power. In some cases turbochargers can increase your gas mileage. This is because it will burn every last drop of gas where as a normal engine would leave behind small amounts. A turbocharger can be applied to any type of engine, rotary, diesel, or even 2 strong and 4 stroke, all while using what normally would have been expelled as exhaust.

When installing a turbocharger you remove your stock exhaust manifold and replace it with a turbo kit. The turbo takes all cylinders exhaust in to one area and forces it in the turbine housing. The exhaust is then re-routed out of the back of your turbo to exit your car.

The only limit to a car’s power is how much fuel you can deliver in to the engine and how well you can build an engine to handle the power.

While most biodiesel kits are focused around your car re-using old oil, this technique involves making your own oil to fuel your car. The fuel is algae. When algae grows, it breaths C02 to not only live, but to thrive. This is perfect because when you car is burning the algae, the main chemical that is outputted is indeed, C02. This makes the car the fuel carbon neutral because future crops of algae will use that carbon to breathe, thus creating the cycle.

To even be considered as an alternative fuel, you’ll need to be making hundreds of millions of gallons of fuel to make a dent. By 2010 they hope to make up to 100,000,000 gallons of fuel using nothing but algae. This probably sounds a lot harder than it actually is because it only takes one acre of water to make 10,000 gallons of fuel. Hopefully they can produce great amounts of it, because the cost they aim to produce it for is only $1.00. Maybe those souring fuel prices will be stopped by none other than biodiesel in the future?

Henry Ford played a large part in the invention of the automobile. He grew up in a decent house, and had a good opportunity to be successful. He didn’t like school, nor farming that much so he left for Detroit where he worked as machinist. After learning the tricks of the trade he went back to his home down of Dearborn and took part in the invention of the horseless carriage. It was a contraption with four bicycle wheels that run off an engine. In 1903 he established Ford as we know it today. In the early days of Ford they produced only three cars per day. There was eleven men involved in the process. However, after the model T was made the demand was huge. Ford had no choice but to come up with an alternative way of producing the goods. The assembly line was then born. With these new advanced they were able to produce one new car every 24 seconds compared to three a day. This easily met the demand at the time. Similar to certain companies these days Ford was strict on his employees. He refused to enter any kind of union, and even hired spies to make sure the employees weren’t forming one. Ford single handedly changed the way things were produced, and how goods are still produced till this current day. His schedules allowed the plant to remain open 24 hours a day. He invented 8 hour work days for employees, but not to give them a better work environment, but to increase productivity. This allowed three different shifts per day, and a non stop car making machine.

In 1938 Ford had a heart attack and passed the company on to Edsel. However, five years later Edsel died which forced Ford to run the company for another two years. Eventually it was passed on to Henry Ford II in 1945, which lead to the death of Ford in 1947. He died of a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 83 in his home town of Dearborn.

Auto body paint is applied to automobiles in several coats to protect against rust, and give the car a nice deep color. Initially robots armed with many nozzles spray the original coats on. The sheets of the car are then run through a wind tunnel. Any waste or flakes that run off are treated as toxic waste, due to the fact they contain toxins. Out of all the processes in making a car, painting is the most expensive step.

The paint is passed through an electric field, which charges the paint droplets. The electrostatic charge helps the paint droplet stick to the body and deploy evenly. Robots can easily cover large areas of body fast, but are not agile enough to work with small parts. Small parts end up being painted by hand, thus wasting a lot of time and money.

If you have an old automobile lying around you can donate it to charity! Our car donation services don’t only take cars, but you can also donate your boat! Why not donate rvs, cars and boats all for a good cause?

Auto body paint repair can fix stone chips, and scratches which are among the most common types of cosmetic damages done to cars. Appearing commonly in high mileage cars, these small nicks and dings can be easily and cost effectively repaired. The most common area is the grill of the car, which is what we’ll be focusing on. If you encounter a deep scratch, such as the ones from keys, you can fill them up with many layers of the same color paint. You can buy this paint at places such as Wal-Mart. Use a standard artist’s brush to do the job.

Next, flatten, and buffer the area in question. Depending on how bad the original scratch was, the repair can be up to 60-95% better than before. You may think that painting areas of the car that can’t be seen are not important. However, paint is there for a reason; to protect from rust and corrosion. It’s equally important as a noticeable part of your car. If you’re not comfortable with doing this yourself, you should take it in to a professional. Filling in dozens of small stone nicks on your bumper can be tedious work. Each of them have to be touched up, and buffed out by hand.

Receive a tax break when you donate your car to charity! Take your old car and donate it for a great cause. If you are a water lover, donate your boat and upgrade to a new one! You can also donate rv campers!

The Shelby Mustang made its first appearance in 1965. When first made not even half of them had pin stripes applied by the factory. In modern times of course this has all changed, and the pin stripe has been accepted. As soon as 1967 the design of the Shelby changed significantly. It became the first American car to boast a stock roll bar. At this time Ford was experimenting with a convertible, however before the idea was implemented it was cancelled. The 1967 Shelby Mustang was given significant popularity when it was used in Gone in 60 Seconds. The car Nicholas Cage used was actually a GT500 look a like. Modern Shelby Mustangs have amazing power. The 2008 Shelby GT500KR which was unveiled in 2007 has a massive 540 horse power engine. The 2008’s sister car; the GT500 can reach speeds of 155 MPH (governed), and do 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. The factory stripe is stock, and the car comes in more colors than the previously all white earlier models.

Originally named Saleen Autosport, Saleen Inc. was founded by Steve Saleen in 1983. Saleen is an American company known for creating some of the highest performance Mustangs to hit the market. The vehicles Saleen makes are based off vehicles such as Mustangs, but are modified; sometimes beyond recognition. The vehicles are mass produced, but still only 8,000 Mustangs were modified since the beginning. Saleen’s cars are priced extremely high. At over $400,000 the Saleen S7 won four GT races in 2001. The newest Saleen Mustang is the 2006 S281 which has over 336 horse power, and will cost you around $40-50 thousand. Saleen is an OEM, which holds them to the same regulations as other car companies such as GM. Like the Shelby Mustang, the Saleen was used in famous movies such as Bruce Almighty, and 2 Fast 2 Furious. Along with movies, it was also featured in a popular video game - Midnight Club III.
