Installing A Lift Kit
If you’re an off-road enthusiast, you might want to consider adding a liftkit to your truck. This will give you extra ground clearance on rough terrain. The basic steps are as followed in the video:
Step One:
Remove wheels.
Remove skide plates.
Remove sway bar links.
Step two:
Remove the spindle from the lower ball joints.
Loosen lower control arm bushing.
Step three:
Disconnect and remove strut.
Step four:
Next, bolt on spacer, making sure the curve spacer is facing out
All that’s next is to reinstall the new strut. In some cars you made need to get the jack stand to remove the lower strut.
Step five:
You must reconnect the spindle to the lower ball joint. A ratchet strap will make this tedious step much easier. One can be bought at a variety of auto parts stores.
Step six:
Install bump stop washers.
Install diff stop spacers.
Tip: (Loosen the steering rack before you begin. It’s easier to attach the nuts to the new bolts.)
Step seven:
Obviously you’re going to need to add your wheels and tires and then lower your vehicle to the ground.
