Lift kit
Lift kits, also called suspension lifts are usually done to off road enthusiasts. The goal is to raise the vehicle off the ground as high as possible. Advantages to lift kits include higher ground clearence, fitting for mud tires, and breakover angles. However, there are a few disadvantages to lift kits. Commonly seen among trucks with lift kits are off roading tires.

Such tires have large treads, and are wider; thus leading to low miles to the gallon. Lift kits can be as simple as lift blocks, or as complicated as replacing the control arms, brake lines, and drive shaft length. Such modifications are extreme, and generally not needed. Counties and states have various laws pertaining to the legality of such kits, so it’s best to check with your local laws before installing one.
