3 March 2008 - 18:18Teens Pick Ford Mustang Over All Other Cars

2008 Ford Mustang

For decades it’s been known that teenagers hold the buying power in the market. Living with their parents, they have little expenses and bills to pay. It’s no wonder when asked which car they’d most like to have, the number one response was a Ford Mustang. However, there was one catch to the story; the car had to be within their reach. This meant they couldn’t pick exotic cars which they won’t have funds for.

Interestingly enough the study also concluded that people in their early to mid twenties preferred the Honda Civic. This however, is not surprising when you look at it closely. More teens get a free ride with insurance and gas when living with their parents. When they have to worry about finances the researches found practical cars such as the Civic, Ford Focus, and Corolla rained supreme.

The study found interesting comparisons between gender as well. While not surprising, the VW Beetle was common among women, but not even worthy of mention among the men.

Among older people the Mustang just doesn’t seem practical. The gas millage it gets isn’t anything near a Civic. However, there’s the obvious power difference - which many people don’t need. The insurance prices for Mustangs and other sports cars are also outrageous, sometimes costing thousands per year.

Advertisers have known this for years and have marketed many different types of after market parts for cars that are considered for teens. The abundance of mustang body kits and other expensive and un-needed upgrades is amazing.

3 March 2008 - 17:08Fix Ford Mustang Window Tint Scratching

Newer Ford Mustangs, especially the S197 model seem to have a flaw in the window tinting. A lot of owners are experiences scratches and scuffs that are impossible to get out. Some gouges appear to be passed the tint and scratching the window itself.
Moleskin Window Tint Protection

Window Tint Scratch Prevention

Moleskin as pictured above is a strip of material that goes along your window to prevent scratches. Don’t be fooled by the fancy name however. The product is nothing more than felt, and any DIY modder can apply it himself. If you don’t have the motivation to do it yourself, you can always buy a kit specifically designed for the Mustang.
Cleaning your windows regularly can help a lot as well. Most people theorize that dust, dirt, and grit cause the scratches when the window is rolled up and down. Plexus is an industrial strength plastic cleaner. It’s specifically designed to fill in, polish, and buff out scratches.

Fix Window Tint Scratches

If you already made the mistake of not using moleskin, there are little to no methods you can try to remove the scratches. If you have applied no after market parts that may have caused the damage, then Ford may cover the scratches under warranty. This also applies to the window tinting itself; meaning Ford will only cover stock tints.

2 March 2008 - 2:56AIT: Stallion III Mustang Body Kit 2005 and UP

Mustang Stallion Body Kit
AIT has just released a beautiful four piece body kit for the Ford Mustang. It will fit on years 2005 to the current date. This B-magic molding is one of the sleekest mustang body kits I’ve yet to see.
Here’s an enlarged image of the side skirts so you can see how magnificent it is.

1 March 2008 - 11:36Mustang Body Kit Of The Day

This is a 2001 Mustang GT convertible with a full stalker body kit installed.
2001 Mustang Stalker Body Kit
As you can see it has a custom glass black paint job, roll bar, and a cover made by Tonneau.
Mustang Ram Air Hood
It’s got a Ram Air hood, along with the front and rear stalker bumpers.
Mustang Side Scoops
Above is the side skirts and scoop. All was painted to match the body of the car.
This is one of the nicer modications I’ve seen in the modding community. One thing I don’t understand is why do it to an automatic car? I guess to each his own. I prefer a manual transmission any way.

29 February 2008 - 14:25Who Owns The First Ford Mustang?

First 1964 Ford Mustang
Recently there has been quite a debate going on over who owns the first Mustang. A museum in Dearborn has long claimed to have the worlds first. The serial number on it is as expected 100001. However, the confusion starts because the build date is 0C5. The first official Mustang meant to be sold was produced on 0C9, or March 9th, not the 5th. This is why a handful of people believe this to be a preproduction car and not the actual first one sold.
So who has the real first one? Well Randy Paddock believes he does. His build date is the same day of release, and his serial number is 100212. There’s just one problem; the car costs $5million. Nobody knows for sure which car is the first for sure. However, both are old, in good condition, and worth a lot of money.

29 February 2008 - 13:26470,000 Ford Mustangs Recalled For Air Bags

2007 Ford Mustang
Ford isn’t known to have the best recall record. In fact, it was only in December when Ford recalled over 1.2 million cars. Now it appears there’s a new recall for over 470,000 Mustang owners in the United States. The issue is with the car’s air bag sensor. The software at the moment has the potential to injure a small passenger that isn’t wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
