Newer Ford Mustangs, especially the S197 model seem to have a flaw in the window tinting. A lot of owners are experiences scratches and scuffs that are impossible to get out. Some gouges appear to be passed the tint and scratching the window itself.

Moleskin as pictured above is a strip of material that goes along your window to prevent scratches. Don’t be fooled by the fancy name however. The product is nothing more than felt, and any DIY modder can apply it himself. If you don’t have the motivation to do it yourself, you can always buy a kit specifically designed for the Mustang.
Cleaning your windows regularly can help a lot as well. Most people theorize that dust, dirt, and grit cause the scratches when the window is rolled up and down. Plexus is an industrial strength plastic cleaner. It’s specifically designed to fill in, polish, and buff out scratches.


Fix Window Tint Scratches

If you already made the mistake of not using moleskin, there are little to no methods you can try to remove the scratches. If you have applied no after market parts that may have caused the damage, then Ford may cover the scratches under warranty. This also applies to the window tinting itself; meaning Ford will only cover stock tints.
