Recently there has been quite a debate going on over who owns the first Mustang. A museum in Dearborn has long claimed to have the worlds first. The serial number on it is as expected 100001. However, the confusion starts because the build date is 0C5. The first official Mustang meant to be sold was produced on 0C9, or March 9th, not the 5th. This is why a handful of people believe this to be a preproduction car and not the actual first one sold.
So who has the real first one? Well Randy Paddock believes he does. His build date is the same day of release, and his serial number is 100212. There’s just one problem; the car costs $5million. Nobody knows for sure which car is the first for sure. However, both are old, in good condition, and worth a lot of money.
